JANE ALYN (JANEY) BRANSON

Janey A. Branson, age 71 of Robinson, IL, passed away Monday April 2, 2018 at 8:30 PM at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL, following many weeks of failing health.

Born October 16, 1946 in Robinson, IL, she was the daughter of Kermit W. and Virginia E. (Allee) Beach. She married her best friend, Gary B. Branson on August 19, 1966 and he preceded her in death September 3, 2009. They enjoyed traveling, going to movies, concerts and plays and spending time at the beach.

Janey lived her entire life in Crawford County. She graduated from Robinson High School, received her Associate's degree from Lincoln Trail College (where she was later inducted into the Hall of Fame) and earned her BS in Education and her MS in Educational Psychology and Guidance from Eastern Illinois University.

Before starting college, Janey worked at the Carnegie Public Library and was the Office Deputy for the Crawford County Sheriff's Department. In 1974 she began teaching at Hutsonville High School where she was the librarian and taught various classes. Later she was the guidance counselor and taught English and Psychology. She loved her students and kept in touch with many of them. Her teaching career ended in 2003 when she retired.

Janey was a member of the Robinson First United Methodist Church and was privileged to serve on the building committee when the new sanctuary was constructed. She was also a member of the LTC Foundation, P.E.O. Chapter IG, and the Crawford Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Errol W. "Pooch" and Mary Dix. She is survived by her "sisters from other mothers": Karen Reinoehl, Connie Carter, Janet Clark, Sharon Miller, Donna Brannon, Sharon Freeland, and Diane Crampton.

Visitation will be Saturday April 7, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson with the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Regennitter will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hutsonville new Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Capital Campaign Fund or the Lincoln Trail College Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
