Robert D. Nicholas, 90, of the Green Ridge section of Scranton, died Saturday, March 17, at Green Ridge Health Care Center after an illness. His wife of 67 years, Marion Peters Nicholas, died July 30, 2015.

Born April 7, 1927, in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Grace (Evans) Nicholas. Bob attended the University of Scranton and was employed in the printing industry for over 40 years, most notably with Eureka Printing of Scranton and Dunmore. Bob was an accomplished drummer and was a lifelong music lover. Bob was a longtime member of Providence United Methodist Church until its closure. He was presently a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his sons, Gary D. Nicholas, his caregiver, of Factoryville and Scranton; and Stephen R. Nicholas and wife, Suzanne, of Jacksonville, Fla; his sister, Helen Nicodem, of Titusville; four grandchildren, Courtney Nicholas; Sarah Nicholas-Bibbee; Kelly Nicholas; and Jeffrey Nicholas; six great-granchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at a time to be announced. Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
