FLORENCE — Gary Dale “Growll” Blackstock, 55, of Florence, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4th from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Tommy James officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Nephews and cousins will serve as pallbearers.

He was a “Simple Kind of Man” who enjoyed spending time with his family and was always first in line to dinner on Sunday. He was passionate about his music and spending time with the joy of his life Dustin Blackstock. He was a proud member and avid supporter of IBEW No. 558, Killen Masonic Lodge 788 and Cahaba Shrine.

He was preceded him in death by his father, William Lance “Pops” Blackstock; mother, Anne Blackstock.

Survivors are his son, Dustin Blackstock; stepmother, Cynthia Blackstock; brothers, William (Dickie) Blackstock and Greg Woods (Amy); sister, Tammye Fox (Mike); nephews, Lance Blackstock, Zachary Woods, Samuel Woods and Mitchell Clements; nieces, Tamara Woods, Bekah Blackstock (affectionately known as Red and Yellow), Kaitlyn Woods, and great- nephew, Parker Woods; uncles, aunts, and a multitude of cousins.
