A son of the late Admiral Edward Dewey Scott and Effie Mae Edmisten Scott, C.D. was an avid pilot for over 60 years, flight instructor, and aerobatic aviator/pilot. He was a 1947 Minford High School graduate, the 1947 Scioto County Foul Shooting Champion, and a historical inductee to the Minford High School Sports Hall of Fame. He began working at Waller Brothers Stone Co. in 1965 where he was a partner. In 1992, he along with two others acquired Briar Hill Stone Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Scott; great grandson Hayden Jordan; four brothers Jack Scott, Curtis Hunt, Ernest Hunt, and Stanley Tennis Scott.

C.D. is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Sharon Paulette; first wife and mother of his two sons, Marilyn Scott of Chillicothe; his sons, Mark (Paula) Scott of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Tisha (Nick) Bradford of Wheelersburg, Tara (Chad) Jordan of Waverly, Curt (Mandy) Scott of Chillicothe, Carly (Brian) Kunkemoeller of Anna Marie Island, FL, Josh (Sarah) Scott of Nashville, TN; eight great grandchildren, Broc Jordan, Abbi Grooms, Scotlyn Jordan, Ava Ricer, Caroline Scott, Connor Scott, Corbin Scott, and Huc Jordan.

Graveside services will be conducted at noon, Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Father Steve Cuff officiating.
