Gary C. Perry, age 75 of Decherd, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hillsboro on August 24, 1942. Gary served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty-one years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was a past District Commander. Gary enjoyed bowling, throwing darts, and watching all sports, especially wrestling. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Lewis Perry; and sister, Brenda Janelle Stone. Gary is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Patricia Spears Perry; sons, Ray (Tammy) Perry of Colorado, Gary Wayne (Melanie) Perry of Hillsboro, Charles (Donna) Perry of Murfreesboro, and Michael (Mindy) Perry of Decherd; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Nell Perry of Decherd; and sister, Theresia (Wayne) Stevens of Bartow, Florida. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Eddie Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with full military honors bestowed.
