Caryl A Young, 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully after a long battle with leukemia. Her husband, Joe R Young, preceded her in death.

She leaves behind her children Debi Young (Joe Kennedy), Brian Young (Hilary), and Bradley Young. She had 6 grandchildren, Amber Sallee, Virginia Usher, Jennifer Radtke, Marissa Wiseman, Ty Young, and Alex Young. She also had 5 great-grandchildren.

She was born on a farm in Chandler MN to Doris and Alfred Johnson. She married Joe in 1955, and they spent 26 years in the Air Force moving several times, and settled in Colorado after Joe retired. Caryl had a long career in Aurora Public Schools Food Service Program, and retired after 20 years. In addition to her children, she leaves behind a brother, Paul Johnson of Conifer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Caryl’s biggest joy was her family.

She was a warrior in her fight with leukemia. She tried every trial drug University Hospital could find. She didn’t want to leave us. She took a piece of our hearts when she died. Our comfort is she is now in God’s loving hands, and reunited with Dad, and all the saints that went before.
