YOUNGSVILLE - In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 19th, GOD dispatched angels to bring our Mother Katherine Ratliff home. She was born on July 9, 1911 to Mary Magdalene & Alexander Washington Ratliff in Lilesville (Union County), NC. She was a most loved neighbor and friend of the Cleveland Avenue Homes for 33 years before residing at the West 14th street Senior Apartments for over 15 years. She was a faithfully member of the Gethsemane Hope Missionary Baptist Church until moving to Youngsville, NC where she then became a watch care member of Nelson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Louisburg, NC. Katherine leaves to remember and honor her memory, her four children, George & wife Thelma of Holbrook, MA; Alexander & wife Vilma of Garner, NC, Mary & husband Mitchell of Winston-Salem, NC; and Georgia & Glennwood of Youngsville, NC. Her 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, namely Katherine Kinley Davis, Jones Parker Davis, & William Avery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov 22 at Douthits Funeral Service from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Nov 23 at 2:00 from the Gethsemane Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev.
