Jim Jackson was a farmer until Lake Oahe claimed his land. He then had a 4000 hen operation where they sold eggs. He became a salesperson for a farm supply. Upon retirement, he sold used furniture and antiques.

He is survived by children: Andrew (Lisa) of Rapid City, SD; Vicki (Ken) Berg of Mobridge, SD; Suzann (Terry) Wiest of Yankton, SD; and Julie (Mike) Flohr of Pine Haven, WY; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
