Life's Epitome

What a precious joy it was on February 14, 1944, when Charles White, Jr. and Gertrude James received a wonderful Valentines, a baby girl named, Kathryn Marie.

Kathryn was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended the public schools and graduated from Solomon Coles High School. Kathryn attended Nursing School in Houston, Texas where she recognized her passion and calling for caring for others.

Kathryn was united in holy matrimony to Leward Spencer and this union was blessed with three children.

Kathryn professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She loved to serve the Lord. Kathryn was a member of the Saint Paul Primitive Baptist Church and the Providence Primitive Baptist District for over twenty years, where she served faithfully and supported her church, serving wherever she was needed.

To have known Kathryn, you would have known her to be a servant to many. Her caring loving and compassionate spirit was evident she was a child of God. Kathryn departed this earthly tabernacle on March 31, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, two daughters, Christine Dibbles and Pier Shaw and two great grandchildren.

Kathryn leaves to Cherish her memories a son, Trey Spencer, brother, Earl Baldwin, God daughter, Eileen Brown, grandchildren, Marquis, Jason, Erica, Shendera, Laurence, Vanity, Lamar, Ledward and Letha, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends, including her church family.
