Steven Daniel Hostettler, age 36, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018.

Steve was born June 26, 1981, in Flora. He did oil field work and had worked in oil fields since he was a young man, including Petco Oil in St. Elmo, maintaining the salt water production of 900 wells. Steve was an avid fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr., and enjoyed bow hunting deer.

He is survived by his father: Tracy Hostettler (Sheila Waller) of Clay City; mother: Kelly (Doug) Hemrich of Clay City; daughter: Elizabeth Hostettler of Oregon; grandparents: Kenneth and Evelyn Hostettler of Clay City, Tony and Sandra Mock of Flora, and Tom and Ginny Hemrich of Clay City; sister: Cassandra Scott of Altamont; brother: Jared (Jeanie) Hamilton of Olney; along with uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Linda Henry; and a sister: Jami Lyn Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

Interment will follow in Clay City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Memorial donations may be given to Frank & Bright Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
