Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Mrs. Ruth Blackmon Thompson, 96.

Mrs. Thompson was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a member of Pine View Baptist Church and was extremely active in senior groups at several local Baptist churches, including Marks, Baker Woods and Riverside. Mrs. Thompson loved sewing and crafts and made afghans for the Linus Project for children at the Medical College for many years.

Family members include her daughter: Jean Mann; grandson: Frank L. Waters; great grandchildren: Jonathon Woehler, Brianna Rix, Bryan A. Morgan, Clayton Woehler; great great granddaughter: Zoe Rix; nieces: Sandra Williams and Sara Sims and many great nieces and nephews; special friends: Martha Hughes, Elizabeth Youman and Alene Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank L. Thompson; brother and sister-in-law: Raymond and Sallie Mae Blackmon; and son-in-law: Donald A. Mann.

A funeral service was held Friday, March 30, 2018, 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Interment followed in Westover Memorial Park. The family would like to express thanks to Kindred Hospice and Kindred Care for the compassion they showed for Mrs. Thompson and family.
