A native of Advance, Missouri, he came to Winter Haven from Dexter, Missouri in 1968.
He was retired from the Fisher Body Division of General Motors Corp. in Pontiac, Michigan and served as a volunteer with Meals On Wheels and at an area nursing home.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn G.; three daughters, Marian Winchester of Rockledge, Christine Flora of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Dixie Newton of Royal Oak, Michigan; five brothers, Otto of Dexter, D.K. and Amil, both of Sikeston, Missouri, August of Malden, Missouri, and Curtis of Parma, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
