Jerry Dean Shue, 70, of Pekin, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Aperion Care Capitol in Springfield. Born June 27, 1947 in Pekin to Elmer and Jesse (Dikes) Shue, he married Linda Smith on August 24, 1985 in Pekin. She died January 15, 2018 in Peoria. Also preceding him in death are his parents; one step-grandson, Matthew John Avery in November, 1989 in Pekin; three sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are one step-son, Robert (Kay) Crawford of Dell City, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Jeannie (Les) Avery and Reatha (Al) Teurle, both of Pekin; seven step –grandchildren; twelve step-great grandchildren; one brother, Frank (Loretta) Shue of Pekin and several nieces and nephews..

Jerry had worked for Annie’s Restaurant as kitchen help and dishwasher, last working in 2003. Prior to Annie’s, he had worked several odd jobs.

He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and wrestling, riding his bike, walking, playing hand held video games and working crossword puzzles.

Inurnment of cremated remains will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
