Jonathan M. Brooks, Jr. of Branford, died Saturday February 21, 2015 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Jonathan was born in New Haven October 9, 1978, son of Jonathan M. and Sue Brooks of Branford. He was a 1996 graduate of Branford High School, where he excelled in baseball and basketball. He served in the U. S. M. C. He was attending Gateway CC, working towards a degree in nursing. Jonathan was an avid reader of medieval and military history. He loved to go mountain biking in Colorado.

Besides his parents, Jonathan is survived by his sister, Jennifer (Wesley) Crozier of Madison; his nephews, James and Charles Crozier; and his maternal grandmother, Ada Jane Melien of Salida, CO. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles O. Melien and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Agnes Brooks.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening from 4-7 pm, with a prayer service at 7pm, at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Burial will be private.
