Billy Gene “Bill” Nutt, 79, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered his Heavenly home on Friday, March 30, 2018. He was born February 4, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Cobie and Estelle Nutt. Bill attended public school and graduated from Ft. Gibson High School in 1957. He married his best friend, Phyllis Ann Hutson, on August 25, 1961 in Muskogee. They shared more than 56 years of life and marriage together. Bill proudly served his country as a member of the US Army from 1961-1963 and the National Guard from 1963-1967. He spent his entire career working in the oilfield industry beginning in 1957. He was currently working as an oil pumper until his passing. He enjoyed watching OU football but loved nothing more than spending time with his family and being a servant for the Lord. Bill was a faithful and active member of the Mountain View Baptist Church for 53 years. He taught Sunday School for many years and was very honored to be ordained in 1999 to serve as a Deacon for the church. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Cobie Nutt; his granddaughter, Cassie Nutt; and brother-in-law, Earl Moffett. Funeral services celebrating Bill’s life will be 10:30AM, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Mountain View Baptist Church with Chaplain Bill Crow and Pastor Jeff Ward officiating. Interment will follow at 1PM at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Military Honors being presented.
