Randy Lynn Collins, age 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Vibra Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born August 24, 1955 in Cassopolis, Michigan to Henry and Charles Ray (Dorsey) Collins. He married Janet Mikulski June 2, 1990 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She survives.

Randy worked as an addictions counselor, community activist and writer in Fort Wayne. Among the causes he volunteered with or served on boards for are the Minority Health Coalition of Allen County, the League for the Blind and Disabled, the Helen Wilson Halfway House for Women, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Allen County Election Board and the Christmas Bureau of Allen County.

Randy will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of twenty seven years, Janet Collins of Fort Wayne; his father, Henry Collins of Cassopolis; seven sisters, Geraldine (Stuart) Emery of Aurora, Colorado, Barbara Jean (John) Dillard of South Bend, Rose M. Collins of Blacklick, Ohio, Betty P. Collins of South Bend, Nannette Collins of Tacoma, Washington, Karen Means of Niles, Lori (Anthony) Boone of Indianapolis; five brothers, Roosevelt Ross of Mississippi, Peter Ross of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Robert (Linda) Collins of Mishawaka, Earl (Shalia) Collins of Indianapolis, Percy Eric Collins of South Bend; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Charles Ray Collins; his son, Frederick Jermaine Ward; one sister, Deborah Moragne; and one brother, Henry Clay Collins.

Family and friends will gather Friday, April 6, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Mr. Collins’ remains will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis.
