Peggy L. Morrison, 79, of Petersburg, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at 12:58 pm at Sunny Acres in Petersburg.

She was born in Springfield, IL, June 16, 1938 the daughter of Charles and Edith (Ferry) Cole.

She married Joseph “Pete” Morrison in Springfield, November 23, 1968 and he preceded her in death December 5, 2017.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her step father Douglas Houston and a step-son, Joseph Morrison Jr.

Peggy began her work career with the State of Illinois, Department of Revenue. She then was the owner and operator of the Track Kitchen located at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Peggy closed the Track Kitchen and joined the Fleetwood Restaurant before joining Capital Airport and then retiring from Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Above all, Peggy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an infectious smile.

She is survived by her three daughters, Patti (Donald) Farmer, Lana (Jamie) Basden, and Maureen Walsh, her son, Kevin Walsh all of Springfield, 26 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The Morrison family will greet family and friends at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Switzer will officiate.

Burial will follow in Salsbury Cemetery, Salsbury, IL.

Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
