Gloria Ann (Bilyeu) Yates, 71, of Evansville, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in her home.

Ann was born November 13, 1946, in Browder, KY to Icy Dora (Welborn) Herron and James Edward Bilyeu. She loved children anybodys children. In her home or at her church, she spent most of her life raising, feeding, diapering, teaching, and loving children. She taught Sunday School and led a preschool choir. She was a fabulous cook who had an award-winning chili that never got made the same way twice, a lasagna that brought people in from across the state, and volcano potatoes that merited mention from the pulpit.

The world is brighter for having had her in it, and generations of children are stronger, wiser, funnier, and happier for having known her.

She is survived by her two children, Angel Bush (Brian) and David Yates (Susan) and grandchildren, Alex, Gabrielle, and Elizabeth.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Philip Wayne Yates; her mother and father; stepfather, Harold Herron; brothers, John, Leonard, and Alton; and sister, Ollie May.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Emily Farmer and Reverend Terry Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
