- - Died on March 30, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital with family at his at his side. He was born April 21, 1931 in South Bend, IN to Earl V. McClusky and Edna (Ross) McClusky, both deceased. He was a graduate of South Bend Adams High School prior to serving in the US Air force during the Korean War. He was stationed in Cheyenne WY, also with Anchorage, Alaska.

He was first in the family to be a proud graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Utilizing the G.I. Bill, he earned an MBA in Business Administration from IU's Kelly School of Business. He spent his entire 35 year career working at AT&T and Indiana Bell which advancing career opportunities in Indiana and New York City.

He was an active member of the Alpha Iota chapter of the Theta Chi Fraternity and as an active alumni, served on the Chapter Foundation Board. He was a life-long season ticket holder of IU Football and never missed an IU basketball games on television. He was an avid golf player and loved being on the water, especially entertaining on his pontoon boat at Geist Reservoir. He was a member of Indian Hills Country Club and Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

He met, fell in the love, and married his life-long love, and 1955 Indiana University Homecoming Queen, Marguerite VanArsdall in 1956. Following his retirement, he and Margie explored both ocean and river-boat cruises in many countries. Their favorite cruise took them back to Alaska.

James was preceded in death by both parents, Brother Donald McClusky, loving wife Margie, and son Michael Scott (2002). He is survived by daughter Lisa Johnson-McClusky (companion Ted Lawson) of Indianapolis, nephews William C Ade of Orlando Fl, Brian McClusky of Laporte, IN, and nieces Marguerite Leichlitner (Larry) of Kokomo, IN, and Adair Vaught (Dale) of Carmel, IN.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Matthew Helman, Brookdale Carmel, and caregiver Deb Clark. Memorial contributions may be made to the or to . Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. with the service immediately following. Please join the family to celebrate Jim's life at A.J. Bar and Grill, (The Grill at Geist) 9755 Fall Creek Rd., Indianapolis, IN - where he was loved and felt at home.
