Lillie Edith Bailey, 96, of Jena, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena.

Mrs. Lillie was a cook at Pinecrest State School.

Services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church of Nebo with the Revs. Curtis Thornton, Kirk Mayo and Dan Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garland “Babe” Bailey; her parents, Jim and Mattie Hudspeth; two brothers, John B. Hudspeth and James W. Hudspeth; a son, John Wayne Bailey; and a granddaughter, Misty Bailey Paul.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, James Garland Bailey and wife Alice Ruth, David E. Bailey and wife Sharon, Linda Ann Phillips and husband Clifford, and Judy Bailey, all of Jena, and Gracie Mitchell and husband Gary of the Belah community; daughter-in-law, Patricia Bailey of Jena; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jordy Mayo, Joseph Bailey, Rio Minks, John Steele Bailey, Brady Phillips, John Nash, Dakota Phillips and Ethan Deville.

Honorary pallbearers were all the great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
