Janice E. Otto, 72, Washington, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Aug.
4, 2014, at her home.

She was born at Ireland on May 17, 1942, to Joseph and Hilda (Sendelweck)
Weisheit. She married Denzil R. Walters in 1960, and he died in May 2006. She
married Steven L. Otto on Sept. 29, 2012.

Surviving are her husband, Steven L. Otto; a daughter, Rhonda Fox and husband
Gary; a sister, Dorothy Traylor and husband Jerry; a granddaughter; and a
great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and James Weisheit.

Mrs. Otto was a 1960 graduate of Otwell High School and graduated from Oakland
City University and Indiana State University. She taught physical education at
Barr-Reeve High School near Montgomery from 1972 to 1977 and organized and
coached the first girls volleyball and basketball teams at Barr-Reeve. She was a
member of Bethel South Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles and
American Legion auxiliaries. She enjoyed bowling, cards and golf.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home at
Washington. Pastor Matt Merrold will officiate.
