Susan Presley Franklin, 65, of Jonesboro, GA passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Southwest Christian Care. Sue was a former Contract Administrator for Clayton County. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and a past President of the Georgia Chapter of the NIGP. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, as well as sewing soft craft dolls. Susan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, William Oliver and Lillie Lankford Presley; and older sister, Joan Presley Brown. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James E. Franklin; daughter, Sharri Henson (Liam); grandchildren, Courtney Simonds (Matt), Trey Henson, Mason Henson and Caitlyn Henson; brother, Steve Presley (Barbara); and multiple nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Larry Hammock officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 120 Harmony Church Road, Eatonton, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that a love donation in Sue’s memory be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2560 Georgia 138 SE, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
