Jerry was born on May 29, 1945 in Sherman, TX and passed away at Wilson N. Jones hospital in Sherman, TX on March 29, 2018.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, his brother, and his children.
Jerry will also be fondly remembered by his grand-children and his great grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Harry Deen Hunter and his mother, Eva Marie Butler Hunter.
Visitation for the family is scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2018 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX at 2:00 PM. With burial to follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
For several years, Jerry operated Hunter's Piano & Organ store at the Sher-Den Mall. He was later engaged in the home improvement and painting business, working around Van Alstyne, Howe, Anna and Sherman-Denison.
Jerry was always chasing his dream of writing a "hit" country song. Most of us know, he loved writing and singing country songs. He entertained friends and family for many years playing the organ and sharing his love of music. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with friends and family on Lake Texoma.
Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas.
