LOCKNEY - Eugene "Birdman" Gonzales Sr., 42, died Saturday, April 7, 2007.


Rosary was said Monday in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev.Jim McCartney officiating. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev.Jim McCartney, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.


Mr. Gonzales was born on Dec. 1, 1964, in Lockney to Ike and Eustolia Ybarra Gonzales.


He graduated from Lockney High School in 1983 and also graduated from LVN school in 1989.


Survivors include his wife Dolores Gonzales; his parents; two sons, Eugene Gonzales Jr. "Birdy," of Austin and Luke Aaron Gonzales of Lockney; a daughter,Valerie Jesusa Gonzales; two brothers, Jay Gonzales "Jaybird" of Hale Center and Ricky Gonzales of Lubbock; and a sister, Rachel Salas of Austin.
