Lucille Porter, 96 of El Dorado, KS (formerly of Hedrick, IA) passed away on 3/21/2018 at the El Dorado Care and Rehab Center.

Lucille was born February 2, 1922 in Ottumwa, IA the daughter of Charles and Laura Hults (Rimmer) and grew up in Fremont, IA. After graduation she married Vernon Porter who served in WWII, while she stayed home and worked at John Deere. After the war Lucille and Vernon purchased Porter's Garage in Hedrick, which they operated for 35 years.She was a member and teacher of the Hedrick Christian Church and a member of the American Legion Auxillary.

She is survived by her son Rodney(Susan) Porter of El Dorado, KS, 6 grandchildren Jenifer and Susan Porter of Alachua, FL, Lee(Trisha) Porter of Jackson, MN, Mark(Chara) Porter of El Dorado, Mike(Alicia) Merrill of Wichita, Matt(Kim) Merrill of St. Peter, MN, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Porter, her parents, on son (Larry), Daughter-in-law Pat, her sister Doris Garbett, her brother Martin Hults, and 2 grandchildren, Steven Merrill and Brian Merrill.

Today the body has been cremated and a memorial will be held in Iowa when family and friends can be present. Final burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, IA.
