Christine Ketelsen Larson, 89, entered eternal life on Feb. 27, 2007, at Fresno, Calif.
She was born Nov. 4, 1917, to Ingwer M. and Thora Lien Ketelsen at Sturgis. Her mother died when Christine was 2 years old, and she was taken to North Dakota to live with her mother's brother, Steiner Lien and family. When she was 13 year old, she returned to rural Sturgis to live with her father who had married Mary Egger. She got acquainted with her brothers and the Egger children and their mother, and considered them all her brothers and sister.
Christine graduated from Sturgis High School, and took nurses training in Deadwood, and trained at Children's Hospital in Denver, Colo. She met and married her husband, Albert Larson, in Denver, Colo., where they lived for many years.
Christine is survived by her children, Robert, Juneau, Alaska, Richard, Fresno, Calif., Linda, Gypsum, Colo., and Susan, Fresno, Calif.; one brother, John Egger, Sturgis; two sisters, Catherine O'Keefe, Loveland, Colo., and Mary Shere, Burwell, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Albert Larson; infant son, Timothy; four brothers, Raymond and Ted Ketelesen, and Joe and Tom Egger.
Funeral Mass was held March 9, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Denver, Colo. Internment was at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
