"Josiah Trent
Josiah Trent, 88 years old, died Friday morning at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his brother Lysander D. Trent in Spencer. Death was due to a complication of trouble which began with the kidneys. He was born near Arney Ind. in 1827 and spent his entire life in Owen county with the exception of about 18 months spend in Iowa.
His wife died about 15 years ago and is buried at Pleasant Bethel, near Arney. He has three children living, of a family of nine. They are James Trent, Coal City, Mrs. Emma Landis, Arney, Mrs. lavada Newsom, of Worthington. Two brothers survive him, Lysander and David Trent, both of Spencer.
The deceased joined the M.E. church at Pleasant Bethel before the civil war and the funeral services were held there Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and interment was made beside his wife."
