Opal Jean Cole, age 81, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. She was born on May 28, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Bruner and Ollie (Barnett) Fletcher. Opal was a former employee of Holthouse Farms in Celeryville. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family, and playing board games.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Mary (Mickey) Eckert of Claypool, IN, Lillie (Elmer) Keen of Mt. Gilead, Geraldine (Chester) Tuttle of Willard; a son, Paul (Kathy) Cole of Claypool, IN; 16 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Edgar (Frances) Fletcher of Shiloh, OH, James (Rosie) Fletcher of Plymouth, OH, Roger Fletcher of Shiloh, OH; a sister, Joyce Sloan of Syracuse, IN; a sister in law, Sandra Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cole; an infant son, Larry Cole; a daughter, Linda (Cole) Myers; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a brother, Harold Fletcher.
