NORTHPORT – Stephanie Hill, age 34, of Northport, Ala., gained her wings on March 26, 2018, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
She was preceded in death by her father, Doug Hill; brother, Ryan Mayfield; and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include her son, Jackson Smitherman; sisters, Elizabeth Byrd (Clint) and Brandi Hill; brother, Austin Mayfield; stepbrother, Justin Mayfield (Suzanne); parents, Jackie Mayfield (Don Stephens) and Dwight Mayfield; nephews, Chandler and Brayden; niece, Carsyn; and numerous cousins.
Stephanie grew up in Northport and attended Northside High School. Despite being born with a rare kidney disease, she fought hard to have a normal life. She made every day count. She had a genuine and loving way about her… a free spirit, a true heart of gold. She was most happy with her son Jackson. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Lollar, Sr., Phillip Lollar, Jr., Tyler Lollar, Donald Hill, Jason Hill and Clifton Herndon.
Honorary pallbearers are West Alabama Nephrology, Kathy and Gregg DeGraw and Reliant Health Care.
