It is with a heavy heart that the family of Mary Wise Horner, born in August 1931, announces her passing on Tuesday, March 27th at Wellmont Hospice House.
She was very proud of her profession as being one of the first certified nursing assistants which she practiced for many years in Bristol.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Fullon Wise and Mandy Wise Tignor. Husband; Hugh Lee Horner. Step daughter; Dorothy Horner Hicks and son-in-law, Lionel Hicks. Along with three brothers; Morgan, Dallas, and Raymond Wise. One sister; Gladys Wise Poulos, three half-brothers; Bernard, Glen, and Vince Tignor. One half-sister, Cletus Tignor Arnold.
She is survived by and will forever be missed by her children, son; Doug Horner (Angela), two daughters; Jackie Horner Booher (Glen), and Patsy Horner Fowler (Tom). Four grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Kristen McKinney, Ian Fowler, Nicole and Samantha Horner. Two special great grandchildren; Ethan and Lexie Lane. She is survived by, two siblings; Willie Mae Wise Black and Daniel Wise. Four half-sisters; Leo Tignor Tweed, Jane Tignor Arnold, Betty Tignor Smith, Nannie Bee Tignor Wise, and one half-brother; L.V. Tignor.
The family wishes to express gratitude to her caregiver, Rebecca Thompson, the staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Tim Anderson, Dr. Marshall, and Wellmont Hospice House.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Glenwood Mausoleum on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3pm with Pastor Bill Houck officiating.
