Born in the Hillsgrove Section of Warwick, he was a son of the late Roderick and Flora (Fortier) Vincent
Mr. Vincent was a lifelong Marine and earned the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He was a Korean Conflict Era Veteran and after completing active duty he transferred to the Marine Reserves, serving for over thirty years. He was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Coventry, and was the owner of The Vincent Real Estate Agency in Kent County.
He was the former Commandant of the Kent & South County Marine Detachment League, He was a Grand Marshal of the South Kingstown Memorial Day Parade, a former treasurer of the Hope Library in Scituate, served on the Board of Directors of the Greenwood Credit Union, was a member of the South Kingstown Elks Lodge, was an active member of the former SHEMCA, and was a Life Member of the Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Robert Vincent and his wife Grace and Deborah Crocker and her husband David all of North Kingstown ; and four grandchildren, Lindsay Vincent, Stacy Veleker, Andrew Crocker, and Winifred Vincent.
A Requiem Eucharist was held Tuesday at 10 at St Peters By-the-Sea, 72 Central Street, Narragansett. Burial with military honors followed in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Toys for Tots.
