Paula Aguilar Garza went to her Heavenly home on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the age of 105 in Houston, Texas. She was born on June 20, 1912, to Juan B. Aguilar Arredondo and Maria Piedad Rodriguez in Leesville, Louisiana and raised in DeRidder, Louisiana.
She was married in 1930 to Margarito DeAnda Garza in Houston. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Delfina G. Ruiz and Olga G. Cano, grandson Roy C. Espinosa, sister and brother, Leonor A. Marentez and Jose Angel Galvan. She is survived by sons, Bill M. Garza, Jorge G. Garza, Rodolfo C. Garza, Hector E. Garza, Robert J. Garza and John G. Garza. She is also survived by daughters, Alice G. Herrera, Terri G. Hernandez, Damiana E. Zuckero, Evangeline G. Robertson, Yolanda Garza and Irene G. Cabrera, 40 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 64 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
Family to receive friends on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 with a 7:00 pm vigil in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Funeral mass will be conducted on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1505 Kane Street, Houston, Texas 77007 with graveside service to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
