Carolyn "Jody" Burgess, 68, of Muncie, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born Thursday, March 23, 1950, in Boone County, West Virginia, the daughter of Leland and Mabel (Hager) Pridemore. Jody was a member of Riverview United Baptist Church and an avid artist. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and antiquing with her friends. She loved spending time outdoors, fishing, and traveling. Jody's favorite thing in the world was being a Nanny to her granddaughter, Caitlyn.
Jody was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Burgess, and brother, Freddie Pridemore.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (husband Charles) Thomas; siblings, Donna (husband Charles) Smith, Wanda (husband Jim) Harris, Pete (wife Sue) Pridemore, Bea Sanders, Todd (wife Lynn) Pridemore, and Tim (wife Kim) Pridemore; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
