Charles Reid George, 84, passed away Monday morning, February 28, 2022 at his home.
Charles was born on March 1, 1937 in Stokes County to the late Reid and Ola Moorefield George. He was a member at Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from RJ Reynolds. Charles loved his church and wore many hats there, having served as Deacon as well. He loved to watch racing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Reid George.
He is survived by his 2 children, Roxanne Hunter (Brent) and Duane George (Carrie); 3 grandchildren, Rachel Martin (Garrett), Riley Hunter (Brandon Mabe), and Brittney Wall; 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas Delp, Caden Lasley, Lincoln "Elroy" Lawson, and Finnley Martin; brother, Bill George; sister, Betty Kearns (JB); brother and sister in law, Sam and Jane Reid; sister in laws, Peg Moorefield, Linda Stevens, and Judy Puckett (Leon).
There will be an 11:00 am funeral service held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Heitman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery,
The family will receive friends following the service.
