Dallas H. Bowman, 72, of 826 Gail Place, formerly of Brownstown, died of natural causes Saturday at home.
He was a factory sewing machine mechanic for 35 years at the former Shirlee Manufacturing, Terre Hill, and for 10 years at Kahn Lucas Lancaster Inc. in Shamokin and Columbia.
Bowman was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Born in Brecknock Township, he was the son of the late Martin B. and Maggie Hurst Bowman.
He was married 48 years on Nov. 7, to Elsie N. Bowman.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, C. Mark, married to Vickilynn Armstrong Bowman of Circleville, W.Va.; a daughter, Ilene A. Bowman of Falls Church, Va.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Paul of New Holland, Melvin, married to LaFern Zell Bowman of Stevens, Martin, married to Elsie Musser Bowman of Port St. Joe, Fla., and Leroy, married to Lydia Ann Horst Bowman of Lancaster; and two sisters, Blanche, married to Paul Polychronis of Dover, N.H., and Anna Mae McCoy of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Walter; and a sister, Mabel Burkholder.
