Mr. Danny Ray Vaughn, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2018, in the comfort of his home at the age of 66. He was born in Parkin, Arkansas on Friday, July 6, 1951, the son of Mr. Henry Vaughn and Mrs. Nora (Evans) Vaughn.
Danny entered into the United States Army on June 12, 1970, and faithfully served his country through the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Danny found the love of his life in Carolyn June Gonser, and on May 2, 1975 they were united in marriage. Danny and Carolyn enjoyed 42 years together until her passing on March 18, 2018.
Mr. Vaughn took it upon himself to instill a strong work ethic in his family, and set an example for them through his many years of service at Big Valley Horse Trailers. Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to livestock, and crafting perfect barbeque ribs. After his retirement, Danny took the opportunity to enjoy being a beloved Papaw.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Vaughn; his parents, Henry and Nora Vaughn; a son, David Hutson; and a brother, Charles Vaughn.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Garcia and wife, Lisa, of Wynne; two daughters, Debbie Thompson and husband, Johnny, of Wynne and Ina Gatlin and husband, Tony, of Wynne; two brothers, George Vaughn of Texas and James Vaughn of Palestine; a sister, Becky Carroll of Ash Flat; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Brother Tony Wells officiating. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
