Graveside service for Joe Ray Burnett will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Floyd Allen officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joe Ray Burnett, age 71, of Chesterfield, Virginia, formerly of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Richmond, Virginia.
He was born January 16, 1947 to Lonnie O. and Ida B. Burnett in Apache, Oklahoma. He worked for Rigger, Inc. in Richmond Virginia.
His lifelong commitment to helping others and selfless acts of kindness towards others is his legacy. He most enjoyed volunteering his time, knowledge and labor to work on and repair vehicles of all types. Seeing people happy was his only objective. He was a devoted father, family man and friend.
Survivors include a brother, Lonnie Burnett and his wife, Anita, sister, Wanda Sue Aultman and her husband Bobby, two sons, Robert (Bobby) Burnett and his wife, Amanda and Michael Burnett and his wife, Stephanie, two grandsons, three step-grand children, three nieces, two great nieces and numerous other family and friends.
