Nellie is survived by four sons, Walter L Manning, Jr., known to all as Butch, and wife, Jamie, of Cuba, MO, John Manning and wife, Jacqueline, Troy Manning and wife, Becky, and Scott Manning and wife, Michelle, all of St. Clair, MO; by three daughters, Dawn Hawkins and husband, Glenn, of Sullivan, MO, Wendy Henderson and husband, Tim, of Lonedell, MO and Lisa Cox of St. Clair; by one brother, Joseph Peredoe of Sullivan; by two sisters, Tena Delmain and husband, Bernard, twenty grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Daisy Peredoe; by her husband, Walter L. Manning, Sr.; by one daughter, Sandra Kay Mohler; by two brothers, Charles and Cletus Peredoe; by two sisters, Jean Wiles and Evelyn Koch, and by three grandchildren, Jeremiah Dace, Christopher Hawkins and Joanna Lynn Click.
Nellie was a Christian and in past years had attended Victory Church, now Roots Church, in St. Clair, MO. She had lived an active and full life and enjoyed living on their farm. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and raising beautiful flowers. She loved animals and liked watching her husband and children ride their horses in horse shows. She was a talented seamstress and also did crocheting and embroidery. Quilting was a favorite pastime. She enjoyed the fellowship of other farm wives that participated in the Women's Farm Club. Nellie was also a talented artist and had done drawing and painting. Nothing made Nellie happier than spending time with her children and grandchildren and each of them held a special place in her heart.
A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great, great-great and great-great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Charles Keith officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
