Iva Jeannette Cheatham, 88, Stanford, KY passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born February 24, 1930 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Polly Cornett Wells, she was the widow of the late Harold Cheatham. She was a former employee of General Electric and a member of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include one son, Jackie Lee Absher (Kay) of Lancaster, KY; one daughter, Brenda Elbrecht (Vernon Jr.) of Lebanon, OH; five grandchildren, Heather Absher, Davy Russell, Vernon Elbrecht III, Jack Elbrecht, and Jon Elbrecht; six great-grandchildren, Bryce Bullock, Braden Elbrecht, Wil Elbrecht, Cody Russell, Katelyn Russell, and Ethan Russell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by nine siblings. Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2018 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Roger Price officiating. Burial will follow at Parlor Grove Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren.
