William J. Lindsay, 76, of 305 Old Oak Road, Newark, and formerly of 10 Hilltop Road, Hilltop Manor, died yesterday at Memorial Division after a long illness.
A native of Wilmington, Mr. Lindsay was employed by the Du Pont Co. as a supervisor at the Chambers Works when he retired in 1958. He worked for the company for about 30 years.
His wife, Mrs. Mildred Jenness Lindsay, died in 1967.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wilmington, Union Lodge AF & AM No. 48 in Elkton, Md., and the Du Pont Country Club and was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Clyde J. Dalton of Newark, with whom he had made his home for the past two years; a brother, Walter D. Lindsay of Connellsville, Pa., and two grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday morning at 11 at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Talleyville. Friends may call tomorrow night, when there will be a Masonic service at 8. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
