Jerry Mayo was born March 14, 1938 in Lake Providence, Louisiana, and passed away March 26, 2018 in Carthage, Texas. Jerry was born to Thad and Cora “Coda” Graham Mayo. He was raised and in Jena, Louisiana, and graduated with the class of 1957. He married Carolyn Ford in 1977 and together they celebrated 37 years.
Jerry worked for Hunt Oil Company for 42 years. He was an active member in the Masonic Lodge in Gary, Carthage, Beckville, Timpson, and had received his 40 year pin. He was also a member of the Sharon Shriner’s in Tyler. Jerry worked for the Panola County Sheriff’s Office as the Gary City Marshal for many years and was a member of the Gary Fire Department. Mr. Mayo is also preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, Thadean Floyd.
