Oscar (Ted) Taylor, Jr., 89 passed away on March 23, 2018 in Weslaco, TX, following an illness. He was born August 22, 1928 to Oscar and Sarah Almyra Taylor. He married Ruth Patterson February 15, 1951, she preceded him in death. He later married Pat Prewitt in October 1998, she survives. 
Also surviving is one daughter, Debra (Ken) Dallefeld; step daughter, Shirley Thurman (Gary Alexander) ; three grandchildren Heather Taylor (Kyle Derby), Tiffany (Bryan) Spragg and Kendra (Josh) DeSotel; four step-grandchildren, Brian (Misty) Dean, Stacey Alexander (Dale Markley), Bill Alexander (Terry Chasteen),and Jennifer (Tyler) Hennings; five great-grandchildren Isaac and Samuel Spragg, Cowan, Alexander, and Violet DeSotel; nine step great-grandchildren, Sydney (Christian Knox), Ruby, Brinley, and Brooklyn Dean, Serena and Madison Look, Ashley and Baily Alexander, Cy Hennings; three step great-great-grandchildren, Daylynn and Marley Jo Alexander and Tyce Knox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth Taylor; son, Ray Taylor; step great-grandson, Derek Look; and six brothers and sisters.
Oscar worked at Admiral Maytag in Galesburg, IL. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Army. Oscar was a member of T. J. Picket Masonic Lodge - Fulton County Consistory, Lamoine Valley Shriners, Lucille Chapter Eastern Star, and the Bushnell United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, gardening, watching college sports, and spending time with his family. 

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday April 28, 2018 in the Good Hope Cemetery, with military rites. Pastors Amy Holman and Mike Herdt will officiate. Memorials can be made to Shriners Transport or Greater Peoria Honor Flight. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
