William Warren Woodruff, 72, of Wister, Oklahoma was born May 30, 1945 in Oakland, California to Frank Woodruff and Eunice (Strickland) Lowe and passed away March 26, 2018 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He is survived by:

One daughter:
Renay Lewis and husband Chuck of Wister, Oklahoma

Two grandchildren:
Tammie Burns and Nathan Lewis

Two great-grandchildren:
Brylie Holland and Kason Burns

Two brothers and sisters-in-law:
Ronnie Woodruff and wife Frances of Red Oak, Oklahoma
John Lowe and wife Betty of McAlester, Oklahoma

Two sisters and brother-in-law:
Linda Lawrence and husband Junior of Red Oak, Oklahoma
Judy Stewart of Red Oak, Oklahoma

Numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette Woodruff; and one son, James Woodruff. William was a life-long resident of the area and a member of the Church of Nazarene. He retired from the Coal Mine after working many years as a Heavy Machine Operator. William was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, where he served his country in the United States Air Force.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Reverend Stephen Nation officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Jerrod Stilley, Mike Dill, Nathan Lewis, Chuck Lewis, Michael Reed, and Roger Lawrence.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Junior Lawrence, Ronnie Haynes, Tim Reed, Junior Strickland, Ro Allen, and Ronald Woodruff, Jr.

Viewing will be from noon until 8:30 p.m., Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday.
