Christopher Todd Cranor
February 7, 1973 - March 25, 2018
Christopher Todd Cranor, 45, returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 25, 2018. Chris was born on February 7, 1973 in Pocatello, Idaho to his parents, Jackie and Glen Cranor.
Chris loved being outdoors, especially in the mountains. He loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was an avid athlete and loved to play a variety of sports. Chris was an Eagle Scout and attended Highland High School, Ricks College and Idaho State University. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served as a missionary in the California, Los Angeles Mission. Chris served in various callings in the church, but particularly loved serving in the young men's organization where he was able to work with his boys.
Throughout his life, Chris worked at Smith's, AMI and the Union Pacific Railroad. He also worked as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Chubbuck and as a wildland firefighter for the BLM.
Chris married the love of his life, Sarah Eckenroed on October 18, 1997. They were sealed for time and all eternity three years later on August 18, 2000 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they have five children, Todd (17), Trevor (14), Thomas (12), Tylee (12), & Tori (8). Chris adored his family and loved the time he spent outdoors with them. He cherished their camping trips to Island Park and going on hikes. He was always so proud of all of his kid's accomplishments. He supported them in many of their athletic events, such as football, cross country, track, dance, and cheer. He especially enjoyed coaching Todd and Trevor in football. A favorite activity was cooking breakfast for his family every morning before they left for school.
Chris loved the mountains and loved trail running and often found peace as he ran. He was a gentle giant of a man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chris is survived by; his wife, Sarah; their children; his parents; his siblings, Bud (Erin), Jared, Amber (Jeff) Moon and Elizabeth (Jeff) Davenport.
