A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life gathering from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at the VFW Post #454 in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post #454 in Bloomington.

He was born May 31, 1946 in Colfax, son of Homer and Irene Wagoner Carter. He married Judy Wheeler on January 15, 1966, she preceded him in death in January of 2009. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Carter.
Surviving are his sons, Mark Carter and Eric Carter, both of Bloomington; one grandson, Alex Carter of Bloomington and one sister, Helen Andreae of Sibley.
He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the VFW Post #454 in Bloomington and the Waynesville American Legion Post #1189.
Duane worked for over 40 years at Bridgestone-Firestone, retiring in 2009.
He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and shooting pool with his friends.
