Being a cowboy at heart, he left his home in Manchester, MT young and over the years lived in Pocatello, Idaho, San Diego, CA, Seattle, Cathcart and Brier, WA and most recently, Condon and Salem Oregon.
Lynn worked as a dairyman, a ranch-hand, a sheet metal worker, a ware-houseman and as a construction laborer. Most of all, he liked working for himself and he owned many business ventures including a donut shop, gas station, a U-Haul dealership, a mailbox/ tax service and the Condon Hotel and Bar before moving to Salem, OR and procuring his real estate license.
He wanted to know every relative, living or deceased. His interest in genealogy started when at 15, he jumped a freight train in Great Falls, MT to visit relatives back "home" in Utah. Over the years he collected enough genealogy to partially fill a small moving truck.
He enjoyed being married and to that end he married at six times. He fathered five children, one with Betty Ann and four with Marian. He married Juanita Harvey on Sep 21, 1989 and they were together until she died last year.
Preceded in death by his parents Ernest Ephraim Blackburn, his Mother Melva Lucile Turner, his wife Juanita Blackburn, oldest son Lynn E Blackburn and several of his eleven siblings including Garth Blackburn, Donna Warnick, Bryce Blackburn, Betty Rae Jensen, Kent Blackburn, Joyce James, and Gerry Blackburn.
Some of his many interests included hunting, archery, genealogy, antique, gun, knife and coin collecting and almost anything else that could be bought and sold at a profit. His motto was buy low and sell high. It was your lucky day if you out smarted him in a purchase or a sale.
The funeral will be held at the City View Cemetery in Salem, Oregon March 3, 2018.
