Robert Louis Halter, 86, of Mansfield passed away June 5, 2013 at his home.

Robert was born July 9, 1926 in Akron to Herbert and Hilda Dettling Halter. He was a business machine salesman, accountant and owner of Mansfield Business Machines, Co. He loved taking and developing baby and wedding pictures, hunting with his father, boating on Lake Erie, and fishing with his family in Canada and Florida. He was active in the Boy Scouts, a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter's Catholic Church, and taught classes for the Mansfield Power Squadron.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Giffels Halter; children, William (Kathy) Halter, Susan (Garry) Schroeder; grandsons, Erich (Whitney) Schroeder, Gregory Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Addison, Brody; brother, Lawrance Halter; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 West First Street, Mansfield with Fr. Tom McQuillen officiating. Calling hours will take place at church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice. Herlihy-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
