Charlie Foster, of Park City, Illinois, made her heavenly transition to be with the Lord on July 24, 2017.

Charlie was born on June 29, 1932 to the union of the late James and Reather Foster in Pace. Mississippi. Charlie confessed to Christ at an early age. Later on in life she became a member at Trinity A.M.E. Church and was an usher for many years. Charlie moved to Illinois at a young age and she worked for Great Lakes Naval Training Center as a Chef until retirement. Charlie loved to bake, cook and have parties with friends.

Charlie was survived by her very best friend, Thomas Woodley of 40 years and one brother, Jesse Foster; also a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and one godchild. We would like to acknowledge her neighbor, John and Ruby Caldwell, Michael Robinson and Family and Bob Jones. We would like to thank Charity for being the caregiver to Charlie. We would like to thank the agency, Griswold Home Care, and Sunrise Village Assisted living. I would like to thank the nurses at Condell ICU that cared for my aunt.

Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Reather Foster; one brother, James Foster and Willie B. Grissett; two sisters in law, Willie Mae and Virginia Foster.

A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Trinity AME Church, 210 South Avenue, Waukegan, IL. Pastor Janice Brazil Cummings, Officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories Cemetery, North Chicago, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M.
