James Stewart Lillard, 72, of Decatur passed away March 24, 2018 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens. He was born in Athens and was a life-long resident of Decatur. He enjoyed fly-fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to watch the Meigs County Girls Softball team play and win. He was a graduate of 1968 class of University of Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Agriculture. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member and past Master of Lodge 213 in Decatur. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pauline Lillard and a brother, Bill Lillard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Iva Lillard of Decatur; thee sons, Jamie (Leslie) Lillard of Decatur, R.J. (Jessica) Lillard of Cleveland, and Tony (Shannon) Slack of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Nina, Cody, Emma, Camden, Porter and Raegan; and two great-grandchildren, Harlee and Mila.

The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Funeral services will be at 7pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 with Rev. Jamey Davis officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10am in Decatur Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Decatur Cemetery fund.
