Helen Moody Collier, 85, of Melrose passed away peacefully in Tyler, TX, Saturday evening, March 24, 2018. She was born on September 11, 1932 to Taylor and Mary Moody. Helen married Buford Alton Collier on July 22, 1950. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen will be remembered by all as a sweet and loving person. She was a member of New Hope Congregational Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children: son, Glen Collier and wife Eleonore; daughter, Carol Ballard and husband Mike; son, Harold Collier and wife Susan; son, Buford Collier and wife Joanie; grandchildren, Jennifer Hilliard and husband Heath, Amanda Johnson and husband Daniel, Clayton Collier and friend Alicia Stephens, Jonathan Ballard and wife Brianne, Amy Stockton and husband Adam, Seth Collier and wife Jenny, Angela Vineyard and husband Jimmy, Jacob Collier, and Matthew Lyon and wife Michelle; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Dillion, Korenna, Hailey, Breanna, James, Emily, Justice, Talia, Abigail, Levi, Benjamin, Henry, Kaitlin, Christian, Jimmy (JJ), and Emma; sisters, Evelyn Crawford-Beckum, Maxine Sutton, and Floyce Sierra; brother, Tommy Moody; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Buford Alton Collier; great-grandson, Alexander; brothers, Sam Moody and Marshal Moody; sisters, Bobby Rogers and Edith McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Clayton Collier, Jonathan Ballard, Seth Collier, Jacob Collier, Rodney Crawford, and Daniel Johnson.
